The Trust is involved in a number of events throughout the year across the two counties, ranging from Arts Festivals to Country Park open days. upcoming events are listed below. We are always looking for volunteers to helps us man our stands to promote the work of the Trust, so if you are interested, please contact us by email on eht@worc.ac.uk.

MAY

Monday 19th May - Oliver's Mound Guided Tour. 10 am
A walk around Shrawley Woods, with Rollo Gillespie, an EHT geologist, looking at the local rocks and building stones of Oliver's Mound. This walk of around 2 miles/2.5km will visit geology sites in the woods. Click here to download a flyer for this event. Organised in conjunction with the Shrawley & District Local History Society. Sunday 25th May - Cleobury Country Fair, Kinlet Hall. 11-4pm.
The Trust will be running a mini Rock and Fossil Roadshow event during the fair that will include 2 or 3 small activities. There will also be information about the Abberley and Malvern Hills Geopark, and the Geopark Way. For more information about the Fair, visit Cleobury Country Fair website

Monday 26th May - Pershore Green Festival. 10-5pm.
A new festival celebrating all things green and environmental. Family entertainment and practical ideas to help you make a real difference from saving energy and recycling to wildlife gardening and local produce. The Trust will have a stall promoting our work in the two counties and selling merchandise.

JUNE

Monday 9th June - Herefordshire Earthwatch 2008. 10-3pm.
The event aims to raise local awareness of climate change and other environmental issues, while empowering local people and communities to take action to minimise their impact on the environment. A stall publicising the Trust's work and selling merchandise will on display during the event. Click here for more information about the event. A flyer is available for download here.

View Article  Woolhope Club - Geology Section events
The Geology Section of the Woolhope club is holding a series of talks and fieldtrips through the end of September 2008. The schedule is listed below.

Friday 7th March
Talk ‘Volcanic Geology of Snowdonia’. Given by Eddie Bailey

PLEASE NOTE A CHANGE OF VENUE. This talk will be held at the New Resource Centre in Friars Street at the usual time of 6pm. Whilst there is some disabled parking on site, the nearest public parking is Greyfriars. The Resource Centre is on the left hand side about 50m up Friary Street from Barton Road & the Greyfrairs Carpark.

Saturday 19th April
Field excursion to Hanter Hill. Leaders: Sue Hay and Geoff Steel.
This is a circular walk of some 4 miles around and over the hill with some walking over rough moorland. Meet at 10.30am in the layby at Burlingjobb on the B4594 (SO251583). There are no facilities so bring a packed lunch and something to drink.

Sunday 25th May
Field excursion to the Quaternary of the Teme and Frome rivers. Leader: Andy Richards. Meet at 10am at the Talbot Public House at Knightwick (SO 734560). Bring a packed lunch/drink.

Saturday 21st June
Field Excursion to the Huntley Quarry. Leader: Dave Owen.
Meet at Huntley Garden Centre (SO 714197) at 10am. Huntley is signposted off the A40 between Ross and Gloucester. We will visit several sites
related to the Blaisden Fault. Lunch will be taken at the garden centre cafe. Please bring hard hats.

Saturday 19th July
Field excursion to the Pyrddin Valley, Vale of Neath. Leader: Steve Howe, National Museum of Wales. Meet at 10.30am in the car park opposite the Tourist Information Office, Ponteneddfechan (SO900077). This trip consists of a lovely riverside walk examining the Carboniferous geology with a picnic lunch at the Horseshoe Falls.

Sunday 31st August
Joint Field Excursion with the Mid-Wales Geology Society. Leader: John Davies. Details to follow

Friday 12th September
Viewing of the film taken during Last September's re-enactment of early Woolhope field excursions.
